  11. my own newtek experience here...btw any who have followed any of my other
  12. posts know that I am anything but a Newtek lackey....

  15. Before upgrading my system, I of course was under deadline pressure as are
  16. all of us and desperate for a solution..called newtek and talked to tech
  17. support...and was told " oh hell ya intel lightwave will work on an
  18. alpha...nt is nt"...well u can all see whats coming now..against the advice
  19. from the newsgroup and most of you(btw never to make that mistake again)...I
  20. bought the intel alpha and used a buds pentium to get my project done..and
  21. ordered my alpha with the cash from the project...all the while thinking i
  22. could get it and go....hmm no 386 emulation in my alpha..hmm intel lw wont
  23. install ...hmm now I am screwed..call up newtek...

  25. long story short it was admittedly a bad tek call.. newtek was training new
  26. people to handle the strain and someone screwed up...after talking to some
  27. of the people there(If your reading this you know who you are and again
  28. thanks) who's names i shall not mention due to not wanting them to be
  29. swamped from this post...We worked together to make a deal that would have
  30. me pay the difference in $$$(due to the deskstation deal) and swapped out to
  31. prerelease alpha...saved..er not quite..no glow etc...well according to the
  32. credit card i have been billed and the final is supposedly in shipping my
  33. way...this said and still deadlines and much needed toys not there i have
  34. come across a newer version of the prerelease but not final that will use
  35. the plugins and has glow ..restrictive ik ..Powerview..center..etc....the
  36. tools that we all need to survive in this industry and keep lightwave
  37. native..having paid my liscence and knowing that stuart and allen et al are
  38. recieving their fair chunk of dosh for coding this beauty its there..this
  39. said I am really disheartened that one would have to resort to such tactics
  40. to keep running....hopefully someone in higher places will realize someday
  41. that not just the "in crowd" is putting this package through its paces and
  42. that the feedback they can get from the types of people who frequent this
  43. list, admittedly not a lot of people are cut out to beta software nor is
  44. selling beta packages to the masses a wise marketing ploy...BUT if their is
  45. a build and someone has paid their cash to say...i want to run the newest
  46. build of this package..flawed or not by purchasing pre release..then i think
  47. its only fair they have at least the same kind of access to the new builds
  48. that some of the "in-crowd" recieve..
